Please be careful when shopping here, besides being overpriced they also sell expired products. I purchased some chuck roast and when i got home and was about to cook it the meat had a horrible smell. Today i went in to purchase some cheese and one of the packets had been expired for a week and the other one still had a few weeks left but already had mold in it.

I've been a loyal customer since Tonyβs opened, and it genuinely pains me to write this. But after today's visit, I felt I had to. Two things happened that left me frustrated and frankly feeling like my loyalty means nothing here. **The meat department pricing:** There's a family pack price of $6.99/lb for taco meat, but the only packs available were 2 lbs or 3 lbs. I needed 4 lbs, so I went to the meat counter and asked if they'd honor the $6.99 family pack price since I was buying *more* than a family pack. They said no β I'd be charged $7.99/lb instead. So I'm being penalized for buying extra. That makes no sense to me. **The guacamole promotion:** A sign at the display said buy a guacamole and get free chips. I bought a $7.99 guacamole, and at checkout I was told the "free" chips only apply if you buy the small $1.99 cups β not the larger one I bought. Again, I'm buying more and getting less of a deal. When I pointed this out, the cashier said "don't ask me, I don't make the rules." I understand she doesn't β but that response doesn't make a customer feel heard. Tonyβs, if you read reviews, I'm a family of six. I regularly spend $300+ in your store. I want to keep coming b

Avoid Tonyβs: A Disastrous Shell of Its Former Self What a massive disappointment. This isnβt the Tonyβs of the past. Right before opening, the ownership changed to a private equity firm, and they have completely gutted the identity of this store to cut corners and maximize margins. It is heartbreaking to watch, and I feel genuinely bad for the frontline workers who are stuck there trying to defend a broken system and a substandard product they didn't cause. The drop in quality is stark. The store has completely lost its classic, high-end Italian specialty roots and has no real identity anymore. The shelves are packed with cheap, random global imports, the olive oil section is a wall of low-grade product cut with seed oils, and the meat department is charging premium prices for mislabeled cuts. But the absolute breaking point was the seafood department. I bought a package of "fresh" wild USA cod, and it was so rancid that the foul, dumpster-like stench was off-gassing right through the sealed cellophane. Even my cat took one whiff of the packaging and backed away in disgust. It is a health hazard. If you have any sense of pride, decency, or respect for your own health, throw it o

I visited the store for the first time on Good Friday around the 11:00am hour. It was a nice if not even better visit than expected. The store was extremely clean, the shelves were well stocked and maintained. Plenty of options to choose from domestic to international there were so many choices. I was hungry so I decided to the try the hot foods and soup bar. The first picture is of the home style chicken noodle soup. Which was delicious could have used more seasoning, slightly just a tad bit bland. The second picture is a half chicken with jalapeΓ±o rice. The chicken was very tasty, the rice on the other hand was also good but not spicy as the name suggests.Tony Market is a nice store their food bars is much smaller than say Peteβs Market but offer a nice little selection of hot foods and soups. I will be returning in the future.

I regularly go to Tony's Fresh Market in Prospect Heights, but wanted to take a look at the new location. Wow! Everything that's good about the Prospect Heights location with many improvements! The hot bars here put the Prospect Heights location to shame! Far more variety and availability, I wish the selection in Prospect Heights was this good! The Mexican restaurant inside the store was a nice surprise, the prepared meals and sandwiches are in abundance, and the deli looked great. As always, the steaks looked fantastic and were fairly priced. I was happy to see that eggs were back down to $3.00 a dozen. Lots of sale items and the shelves were well stocked. Employees were plentiful and helpful. Several sample stations (honey on pretzels, hot dogs, pizza, Italian beef and others) were a nice surprise. Plenty of parking, and that's a good thing because this store seems to be super popular already.
